Prince Albert Stories in the evening

Kweekvallei in 1778 from Gordon's Atlas in the Rijks Museum collection, Amsterdam

From time to time I am invited to join small groups at our guest houses to tell pre-dinner stories about Prince Albert from the days of the original farm, Kweekvallei, how we came to be named after Queen Victoria's consort, experiences from the Anglo-Boer War, how the Swartberg Pass came to be built and anecdotes about curious characters such as Hennie 'Velsambreel" - the umbrella man whose nephew pushed him round the village in a cart.

The hour-long programme includes entertaining yarns, little known facts, good laughs and a couple of ghost stories.

If you are visiting us during the school holidays please make a booking well in advance since the Ghost Walk keeps me very busy then.
