Prince Albert Treasure Hunt Walk for Children.

The Prince Albert Treasure Hunt Walk has been devised to entertain (and educate) younger children from the ages of 4 to 10 and takes just over an hour. Every child receives a colourful worksheet and a pencil. We wander along pavements and quiet streets. At least one parent or grandparent or other responsible adult needs to accompany them - and the grown-ups can expect to have fun too!

Reflections on a morning walk:

I have just had a magical morning accompanying two young ladies (6 and 8 years old) on a Prince Albert Treasure Hunt, their parents came too.  We wandered along a set route looking for decorative features and objects which can rightly be termed Prince Albert Treasures.

They ticked off each one on the activity sheet as we found it and I wove a story about each. These include a postbox on a house which used to be the post office, a lion on a coat of arms, old motor cars, broekie lace and fretwork and some of Kevin’s wonderful bins. We were fortunate enough to see Kevin at work on the stoep outside his studio.

Join me as we hunt for treasures in our special village

Bookings are essential

We wander along pavements and roads, so sensible shoes are best.

All walks are taken at your own risk.

Some of our dustbins have secrets!

A comment from their Mom: "They had so much fun and learned so much!"
